The City of Elgin has launched a new pilot project to help reduce the use of small, gas powered engines that contribute to air pollution. The Zero-Emission Yard Equipment Rebate is an opportunity for residents who have purchased an electric leaf blower, snow blower, lawnmower, trimmer, edger, or manual reel lawnmower to receive a $50 rebate. Eligible equipment must be zero-emission, with a minimum of 18 volts and used for non-commercial purposes.
