City of Aurora issued the following announcement on Aug.9.
Next weekend is the annual ‘Free School Supplies Weekend’ in Aurora (August 14-16) and thousands of grade-level school supply kits will be distributed. Even with most of our students staring the year with remote learning, supplies are still needed and Aurora is ready to provide.
ALL EVENTS THIS YEAR WILL BE IN A DRIVE-THRU FORMAT where you can simply drive through the distribution line and get your supplies (and may some other great surprises too!). Each event will also accommodate walk-ups as well.
• FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 | 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. | Greene Field Park
• SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 | 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. | Sacred Heart Church
• SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 | 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. | Phillips Park
• SUNDAY, AUGUST 16 | 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. | Martin Luther King Park
