Analysis: South Elgin pays $2.57 for every $1 pensioners contribute to South Elgin/Countryside Fpd Firefighters Pension F

Taxpayers contributed 71.6 percent of the $866,492 the South Elgin/Countryside Fpd Firefighters Pension F brought in last year, or $2.57 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, South Elgin contributed $620,416 to the fund, which saw a $38,802 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $241,274, or 27.8 percent, in 2016. Another $4,802 came from other unspecified sources.
