City of Aurora Public Health, Safety and Transportation Committee met Oct. 8

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Saville called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present: 5 - Chairperson Mike Saville, Vice Chair Bill Donnell, Alderwoman Juany Garza, Alderman John Laesch and Alderman Ted Mesiacos

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

24-0722 Approval of the minutes from the Public Health, Safety, and Transportation Committee meeting held on September 24, 2024.

A motion was made by Alderman Mesiacos, seconded by Alderwoman Garza, that this agenda item be accepted and filed. The motion carried. Ayes: 5

PUBLIC COMMENT

AGENDA

24-0737 A Resolution establishing the maximum number of Class D: Downtown Core On-Site Consumption liquor licenses (unofficially related to the application from ArthouseAurora LLC d/b/a Arthouse at 5 E Galena Blvd). [Ward 2]

Jennifer Stallings, City Clerk - City of Aurora and Chad Gravenites, Business Owner/Operator presented and answered questions regarding this item.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Garza, seconded by Alderman Laesch, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

Ayes: 5

24-0749 A Resolution seeking City Council authorization to apply for the State of Illinois Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Healthy Houses Program Grant in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000 to preserve single and multi-family, landlord owned, low to moderate income units, up to six units total, and encourage neighborhood revitalization with an emphasis on maintaining health and safety Chris Ragona, Director of Community Services - City of Aurora presented and answered questions regarding this item.

A motion was made by Alderwoman Garza, seconded by Vice Chair Donnell, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Alderman Laesch, seconded by Alderwoman Garza, that this meeting be adjourned. The motion carried. Chairperson Saville adjourned the meeting at 4:26 p.m.
