City of Aurora Building, Zoning and Economic Development Committee met July 10

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Smith called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present: 5 - Chairperson Patty Smith, Vice Chair Shweta Baid, Alderman Carl Franco, Alderman Mike Saville and Alderman Bill Donnell

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

24-0498 Approval of the minutes from the Building, Zoning, and Economic Development Committee meeting held on June 26, 2024.

A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Vice Chair Baid, that this agenda item be accepted and filed. The motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT

24-0516 An Ordinance Annexing a portion of railroad property located east of Gordon Road and West of Orchard Road, in Sugar Grove Township, Kane County, Illinois to the City of Aurora pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/7-1-8 Ed Sieben, Director of Planning and Zoning - City of Aurora and Tracey Vacek, Senior Planner - City of Aurora presented and answered questions regarding this item.

A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Donnell, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

24-0517 An Ordinance Annexing property generally bounded by the Kane County Forest Preserve to the east, ComEd utility right-of-way to the west, Progressive Baptist Church to the north, and the BNSF Railway to the south, in Sugar Grove Township, Kane County, Illinois, to the City of Aurora pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/7-1-13

Ed Sieben, Director of Planning and Zoning - City of Aurora and Tracey Vacek, Senior Planner - City of Aurora presented and answered questions regarding this item.

A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Donnell, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried.

24-0478 A Resolution Approving the Final Plat for Lots 1-5 of Butterfield Phase II Subdivision, Unit 5B, on vacant land, located at 2725 Bilter Road being south of Bilter Road, west of Eola Road, and north of Interstate 88 Jill Morgan, Senior Planner - City of Aurora and Russ Whitaker business representative for Cyrus One presented and answered questions regarding this item.

A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Vice Chair Baid, that this agenda item be forwarded to the Committee of the Whole (Final/Appealable). The motion carried.

24-0479 A Resolution Approving a Final Plan for Lots 1-5 of Butterfield Phase II Subdivision, Unit 5B located at 2725 Bilter Road being south of Bilter Road, west of Eola Road, and north of Interstate 88 for a Warehouse, Distribution and storage services (3300) in the form of a data center only and a Telecommunications Facility (4211) Use Jill Morgan, Senior Planner - City of Aurora and Russ Whitaker business representative for Cyrus One presented and answered questions regarding this item.

A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Vice Chair Baid, that this agenda item be forwarded to the Committee of the Whole (Final/Appealable). The motion carried.

A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Vice Chair Baid, that this meeting be adjourned. The motion carried. Chairperson Smith adjourned the meeting at 4:20 p.m.
