CALL TO ORDER
The February 5, 2024 meeting of the Geneva City Council was called to order at 7:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall by Mayor Kevin Burns.

Geneva Library Presentation on “One Book, One Community” Program
GPLD Information and Reader Services Coordinator Lauren Maxwell introduced this year’s One Book, One Community selections. She noted that this is the third annual month-long event series in which both an adult and children’s book are selected. The adult book selection is You Are Here by Karen Lin-Greenberg. Ms. Lin-Greenberg is an author who has written several stories but this is her debut novel. She will be speaking about her book on March 10 at 1:30 pm at the library.
The children’s selection is In the Neighborhood by Rocio Bonilla. There will be an all-ages program for this book at the library on March 9. Ms. Maxwell noted that Geneva City Council Meeting February 5, 2024 nearly 1,000 of the children’s and adult titles will be given away thanks to support from the Friends of the Geneva Public Library and the Geneva Library Foundation.

Admin Dawkins advised the City Council that Resolution No. 2024-16 had an incorrect date in the heading which will be corrected once executed. On a question by Ald. Kosirog, Admin. Dawkins stated that there are no significant changes to

On a question by Ald. Kosirog, Admin. Dawkins stated that if no closing occurs by May 30, she will come back to the City Council to advise them. On a question from Ald. Kilburg, Admin. Dawkins stated that the final footprint has been determined but that the City wants a second survey to ensure that after construction is complete, the area marked on the survey is the area that the City wishes to purchase. On a question from Ald. Mayer, Admin. Dawkins noted that the shelters will not be acquired by the City.
