At the Feb. 14 District 300 Board of Education meeting, board members welcomed Dr. Christopher Testone as the new principal of Jacobs High School.

"Just as a reminder, we went through an extensive process to vet our candidates" Superintendent Susan Harkin said. "Chris made it through. We had a lot of very outstanding candidates for this position. We have outstanding schools in all of our high schools and Jacobs is one of them. So we are excited to see Chris return back to District 300 as principal of Jacobs High School. We had a really wonderful conversation when we interviewed. And I'm just thrilled to have you be joining our ranks and look forward to being here as soon as we possibly can get you."

Testone started teaching in Hoffman Estates, teaching English. He was an assistant principal at Dundee Middle School in District 300 and a principal in other districts since then. He was the principal of Central High School for the past eight years, guiding the school through a 38% enrollment increase in that time.

Testone has an English degree from Eastern Illinois University, received his master's in educational leadership from Northern Illinois and his doctorate from Aurora University.

Harkin also recognized the efforts of the district's school counselors. She thanked them for their work supporting students' social, and emotional well-being.

Harkin then thanked the district's school resource officers. She credited them for their service in keeping the schools and communities safe, and for creating relationships between youth and law enforcement.
