City of Batavia Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met Sept. 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

This meeting was held in the Police Department Conference Room.

Meeting started at 9:17 a.m.

Roll Call

Members Present: Chairman Nancy Vance; Secretary Dennis Anderson; Commissioner Randy Zies

Members Absent:

Others Present: Chief of Police Daniel Eul; Recording Secretary Joanne Miller

NEW BUSINESS

Secondary Eligibility Register – Police Officer

The Board entered into Executive Session at 9:17 a.m.

Motion: To enter into Executive Session to discuss the written test results for the Secondary Eligibility Register at 9:17 a.m.

Maker: Zies

Second: Anderson

Voice Vote: 3 Ayes, 0 Nays, 0 Absent. All in favor. Motion carried

Motion: To return to Open Session at 9:32 a.m.

Maker: Anderson

Second: Zies

Voice Vote: 3 Ayes, 0 Nays, 0 Absent. All in favor. Motion carried

The Board returned to Open Session at 9:32 a.m.

The Board took a break from 9:32 a.m. – 9:39 a.m.

Motion: To accept the test results from the testing company Stanard and Associates for the Secondary Eligibility Register and create an Initial Eligibility List, as amended in executive session. These test results did not result in adverse impact against African American or Hispanic protected ethnic groups.

Second: Anderson

Voice Vote: 3 Ayes, 0 Nays, 0 Absent. All in favor. Motion carried

The candidates on the initial eligibility list will be notified and sent the Preference Points Claim form via both email and US Postal mail service. These candidates will have until Wednesday, September 29, 2021, to fill out the form and return it to Joanne Miller, Recording Secretary. The Final Eligibility list will be updated with the Preference Points at the next regular meeting. The candidates who did not pass the written exam will be notified by Certified Mail.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to consider, a motion was made by Commissioner Zies to adjourn the meeting at 9:41 a.m. Seconded by Secretary Anderson. All in favor. Motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:41 a.m. The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021, beginning at 4:00 p.m. This meeting may be held in the Batavia Police Department Conference Room or remotely via Zoom.
