City of Aurora issued the following announcement on Nov. 16.
The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, in partnership with the City of Aurora and the 605 Innovation District, invites Aurora youth ages 14 – 20 to participate in the 'Aurora Smart City Youth Summit’ on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Aurora is poised to become a regional technology hub,” said Mayor Richard C. Irvin. “To achieve that goal, we need to gather insights from our youth.”
The one-day summit will convene Aurora youth to discuss the impact and possibilities of a smart city. Youth will work in teams with subject matter experts to ideate and design how they will impact the digital economy of Aurora. Lunch is included thanks to a sponsorship from ComEd.
This event will be hosted at the Steve and Jamie Chen Center for Innovation and Inquiry located on the IMSA campus at 1500 Sullivan Road.
