CITY OF AURORA: National Night Out in Aurora!

Nationalnightout

City of Aurora issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.

Forty neighborhoods throughout Aurora are planning events to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

National Night Out culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August in an effort to enhance the relationship between neighbors, public safety officials and city officials while focusing on strengthening a true sense of community.

“National Night Out in Aurora is a night to unite,” said Cheryl Maraffio, the City's Neighborhood Groups Manager. “This one evening provides both an opportunity to connect with neighbors and a foundation to build upon for future neighborhood-based and community-wide initiatives.”

Aurora's National Night Out events are held in various neighborhoods throughout each of the city’s ten wards. Each celebration encourages residents to come outside and spend the evening getting to know their neighbors, community partners, public safety, elected and city officials. This year, one of Aurora's largest and oldest National Night Out celebrations, hosted at Georgetown Park by the GRENO neighborhood group, will celebrate its 15th year anniversary.
