City of Elgin issued the following announcement on May 26.
The City of Elgin is making history again as the Elgin Civil War Experience returns Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 6:45 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the property adjacent to 600 S. State Street, Elgin, IL 60123.
The Elgin Civil War Experience will feature live battles, offer spectators the chance to experience living history, see accurate portrayals of soldier encampments and so much more!
Witness Living History
Infantry Drills
Artillery Drills
Cavalry Competitions
Battle Reenactments
Fashion Shows
Ongoing demonstrations throughout the various camps
Appearances by various Generals of the time
Advance tickets can be purchased online for $5 each at cityofelgin.org/cwtickets through Friday, June 7 at 5 p.m.
