City of Geneva Natural Resources Strategic Plan Advisory Committee will meet Feb. 7.

Here is the agenda provided by the Committee:

1. Call to Order

2. Roll Call

Jay Womack, Bill Doeckel, Adam McMillen, Jeanine McMillen, Tom Dickinson, Carrie Carter, John Frankenthal, Jim Clesen, Dan Ludwig, Eric Weck, Kelvin Limbrick, Steve Matravers, Brendan Cassin

5. Active Projects:

• Earth Day Event 2018

i. April 21, 2018 at Peck Farm Park, 11 to 3pm

ii. Park District has placed a one page announcement in winter catalogue

iii. Park District found an electronic recycling group to be at event

• Eastside Fire Station Natural Landscaping Project

i. The landscape is asleep.

ii. There are a number of small oaks growing, decided to leave them in place.

• River Clean-up Day

i. Next date will be last Sunday of September, 2018, aligned with World River Day.

ii. Sponsors for t-shirts?

• Rain Barrels for sale

i. Barrels are $75 each

• Rain Barrels on Parade

i. Next event will be some time in future

• Greening Geneva Initiative

i. Think about locations for new trees for Spring 2018

• Wine, Cheese, and Trees.

i. Date is set for February 24, 2018.

ii. Persinger is reserved.

iii. Start collecting wine for the wine wall and live auction.

1. Have almost 80 bottles already.

iv. Keep bringing in great items.

v. Purchase PDRMA insurance.

• Fabyan Preserve Stewardship

i. Work days in February are the 10th and 17th.

• NRC Facebook page

i. General update

• Review ordinance revisions from Steve and Lauren.

6. New Initiatives

• Chicago Climate Charter support for City of Geneva

i. Mayor Burns to give an update to the NRC

ii. How can the NRC support the Charter?
