Jennifer Milewski has assumed the role of Finance Director for the City of Geneva, bringing nearly two decades of municipal experience. She started her new position earlier this month, where she will oversee accounting, accounts receivable and payable, and utility billing operations. The department also handles the city’s financial assets and investments, assists with the annual budget process, and prepares the comprehensive financial report.

Milewski was appointed to this role in May. Her previous experience includes working for the Village of Montgomery as an Accounting Manager from 2020 to 2022 before being promoted to Finance Director for three years.

Familiar with Geneva due to her residency there, Milewski returns after previously serving as an Accounting Supervisor from 2016 to 2020. City Administrator Stephanie Dawkins commented on her appointment: “As a former member of our team, Jennifer brings a strong familiarity with the City organization and a wealth of experience and financial expertise. We are confident that her return will provide strategic leadership and continuity as we move forward in achieving our long-term goals.”

Milewski's career highlights include strategic planning, budgeting/financial forecasting, fiscal policy development, grant management, financial software implementation, tax levy preparations, and project management.

Expressing enthusiasm about her new role, Milewski stated: “I’m excited and honored to step into the role of Finance Director for the City of Geneva — a place that has meant a great deal to me both personally and professionally.” She emphasized her commitment to building a strong financial foundation for community services and projects.

Earlier in her career, she served as Senior Accountant for Sugar Grove from 2008-16 and as Senior Accounting Clerk for Yorkville from 2006-08.
