Elgin officials said in a news release that Greg Hulke and Aaron Neal were recently promoted to public works superintendents.
Hulke, who has worked for the city for 14 years, will be in charge of the land-management and forestry divisions, which handles grounds maintenance for 75 parks, 65,000 trees and upward of 180 properties.
Neal, who has been a city employee for 12 years, will head up the divisions of street maintenance, traffic and fleet service.
“I am incredibly pleased to promote two high-performing, dedicated city employees into roles that allow them to continue positively impacting the public services department,” City Manager Rick Kozal said in the release. “Both Aaron and Greg consistently display strong leadership qualities that will provide the public works divisions with the necessary guidance and vision to continue providing exemplary core services in a financially constrained climate.”
