The Geneva Public Works Facility at 1800 South St. will be closed to customers on Tuesday, Nov. 11, due to scheduled maintenance on an electric transformer that will result in a power outage at the building. The City of Geneva has stated that this outage will not affect electric service for nearby residential customers.

Despite the closure of the facility itself, Geneva Public Works employees will continue their regular field operations. Phone lines for the department will remain active, with calls being redirected to staff working from other City buildings during the day. Contact information for divisions such as Streets, Electric, Engineering, and Water can be found in the City's staff directory.

Residents are encouraged to report non-emergency issues online through the City's SeeClickFix platform. Access to the free mulch pile outside the Public Works Facility will remain available during this period.

All other City buildings in Geneva will be open as usual on Nov. 11. The Public Works Facility is expected to resume its standard walk-in hours (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) starting Wednesday, Nov. 12.
