Emergency electrical repairs are scheduled at the CyrusOne Data Center in Aurora on Thursday, August 14, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The City of Aurora has announced that temporary sound walls will be used to reduce noise during the repairs, but residents in the Palomino Springs neighborhood and nearby areas may still experience elevated noise levels.
CyrusOne is offering reimbursement for an overnight hotel stay on August 14 to residents living on Molitor Road, Harris Drive, Jeanel Lane, Merle Drive, Palomino Drive, Shetland Lane, or Clara Avenue. Residents must submit a paid hotel receipt to communities@cyrusone.com by Friday, September 22 to qualify. Reimbursements will be processed within 14 days after submission.
Both the city and CyrusOne are working together toward a long-term solution for ongoing noise complaints related to the data center’s operations. According to the announcement: "Both the City of Aurora and CyrusOne remain committed to working together to implement a permanent solution to the noise complaints that have affected the area. CyrusOne appreciates the community’s patience while scheduling and performing this critical work. More updates on CyrusOne’s permanent generator wall and permanent chiller sound mitigation progress are set to be shared during another resident meeting in early September."
