Central Community Unit School District 301, serving Kane and DeKalb counties in Illinois, recently shared updates on student activities and district engagement through its official social media account.

On August 14, the district highlighted a back-to-school event for incoming eighth graders at Central Middle School. In the post, the district stated: "Locker Launch 2025 Our incoming 8th graders got a head start on the school year at CMS Locker Launch — finding their lockers, exploring the halls, & seeing classmates. New principal Matt Palcer was helping students get comfortable and ready for #DayOne301 #WeAreCentral https://t.co/uJ3gmN88OG".

Two days later, on August 15, Central Community Unit School District 301 reported on activities for freshmen enrolled in AP Human Geography. The post read: "Two days of learning, exploring, & team-building for our newest AP Human Geography freshmen! From tackling challenges & games at Central to venturing into Chicago to see geography in action, students got a head start on applying what they’ll learn this year. #WeAreCentral https://t.co/R51Zb3eVpx".

On August 17, the district encouraged community involvement with its newsletter: " Communication is a two-way street. You’re always welcomed to be part of the conversation. The Central Community Unit School District 301 includes several schools such as Central High School and Prairie Knolls Middle School among others. According to state education data, the district employs about 280 teachers with an average salary of $58,199; approximately three-quarters are women.
