St. Charles Police respond to bomb threat at Q-Center; no device found

At around 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, the St. Charles Police Department responded to a report of a possible bomb threat at the Q-Center hotel and convention complex located at 1405 N. 5th Ave. in St. Charles. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad assisted in searching the premises, but no device was found.

As a precaution, authorities evacuated approximately 400 people from the facility and secured the area while the investigation took place. After law enforcement determined there was no threat, all guests and staff were allowed to return safely to the building.

The police are continuing their investigation in cooperation with other agencies. Anyone who may have information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the St. Charles Police Department at 630-377-4435.
