The City of Geneva will begin replacing a water main near the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital Health & Fitness Center. Equipment mobilization is scheduled for the week of July 21, with construction starting the following week.
These improvements aim to enhance water service reliability in the area. Access to the Fitness Center will remain available during the project, but visitors should be cautious around contractors and equipment.
To assist patrons, a detailed construction map has been published on the project's web page, showing where work will occur this summer. The main driving lane in the Fitness Center parking lot will stay open, though some drive aisles may close temporarily. Parts of the parking lot might be blocked off for construction purposes.
Delnor Drive will remain accessible, and access to other Northwestern Medicine campus buildings won't be affected despite visible construction equipment.
Water service at the Fitness Center is expected to continue uninterrupted except when connecting the new water main to the building. The City plans to give advanced notice during this phase.
Construction is expected to be substantially complete by late August, with full completion anticipated by mid-September, weather permitting. To reduce inconvenience, this work coincides with a planned pool maintenance closure from Monday, July 28, to Monday, Aug. 11.
