ComEd has announced a new initiative to assist customers struggling with high energy costs this summer. The ComEd Customer Relief Fund, a $10 million program, is being administered by the Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago and The Salvation Army.

The fund offers financial assistance to residential customers and qualified nonprofit organizations with past-due balances. Residential customers who are at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level may be eligible for grants up to $500. Qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations can apply for grants up to $1,000.
