On May 27, 2025, at around 5:09 p.m., the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments responded to a traffic crash in the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive. A five-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in a driveway.
Upon their arrival, officers found a neighbor performing CPR on the child. The police and fire personnel took over the life-saving efforts. Despite these measures, the child was later pronounced deceased at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital.
The driver involved in the incident is an immediate family member of the child and has been fully cooperative with authorities during the investigation.
The St. Charles Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash with assistance from the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team (KCART).
