The City of St. Charles has released its annual Water Quality Report, which reveals that the city's tap water meets or exceeds all standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This assessment is conducted annually in accordance with stringent EPA drinking water regulations.

The report, designed to keep residents informed, provides an overview of the quality of drinking water, including its sources, contents, and its compliance with the Safe Drinking Act and other regulatory benchmarks.

"The City of St. Charles distributes a report each year that summarizes the quality of the City’s drinking water," the report states. It aims to inform residents about where the city's water originates, the substances it contains, and how it matches up to the criteria set by regulatory agencies.

The report available for 2024 includes data from water tested in 2023. Residents can access this information online, or obtain hard copies at the Municipal Building located at 2 E. Main St., or at the Public Works facility at 1405 S. 7th Ave.

For further details on the water testing standards and frequency, residents are encouraged to contact the Illinois EPA at 217.785.4787 or the St. Charles Public Works Department at 630.377.4405, or via email at pw@stcharlesil.gov.
