Assistant Minority Leader Dan Ugaste was back in Springfield this week after a busy schedule of committee meetings and sessions on the House Floor. On Thursday, he held a press conference alongside colleagues Tom Weber and Joe Sosnowski to introduce legislative packages aimed at providing property tax relief for Illinois families.
The legislators expressed concerns about the impact of high property taxes, stating that they hinder commercial growth and compel residents to either leave the state or endure significant annual increases.
"High property taxes are stifling commercial growth and forcing residents to flee the state or pay astronomical increases every year," they stated during the press conference.
