• Recycling Bins on 3rd Street
i. The bins are in place and being utilized.
ii. It has been noted that many of the recycle bins are overrun with material and need to be emptied sooner so that they are not overwhelmed with garbage as well.

• NRC Lecture Series
i. The next lecture will be about Fabyan Gardens and the work they are doing.
• Dark Sky Initiative
i. NRC to continue to promote the Dark Sky Initiative.
ii. Jay will work on a Proclamation with the City. Will be on City Council agenda.
• Tree Ordinance
i. David Monaco met with City to discuss NRC recommendations, there are several sections of the City Code that need to be amended in relation to tree preservation, tree protection, and landscaping.
ii. Three members of NRC will meet with City as next step.
• Bird City Illinois
i. Members of the NRC reviewed items and will review next steps. Will report findings to SPAC.
6. New Initiatives
• Create an education piece to reduce plastic and styrofoam at restaurants.
• Continue to support educational opportunity to move Spring leaf collection into May, not April.
