1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. INVOCATION followed by PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Girl Scout Troop led the Pledge of Allegiance.

8. OATH OF OFFICE: Probationary Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedics Bryan
Borucki, Alex Balentine and Jacob Canada
Chief Hanson rose to address the Council. He introduced Probationary Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedics Bryan Borucki, Alex Balentine, and Jacob Canada.
Mayor Schielke administered the Oath of Office to Bryan Borucki. Borucki offered his thanks and gratitude to the City.
Mayor Schielke administered the Oath of Office to Jacob Canada. Canada thanked Sugar Grove for the opportunity to serve and thanked the City.
Mayor Schielke administered the Oath of Office to Alex Balentine. Balentine offered his thanks to the City and the senior officers who have raised him so far in his career.
9. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
President Margaret Perreault delivered her report on the recent and upcoming activities of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce. She introduced new members of the Chamber.
She also recognized Jason Stoffles, Enticing Cuisine, as the Chamber Member of the Year and Patti Lackman, as the Georgine Kauth O’Dwyer ambassador of the year. Nomination applications are now open for the Citizen of the Year.
Networking and professional development events are coming up including the Batavia
Business Exchange on October 15th, Chamber Membership 101 on October 18th, and the Fall into Business Multi-Chamber Event on October 24th.
She introduced her guest, Michael Read, owner of Grainology Brewstillery. Read addressed the Council and offered thanks to the community for a supportive and warm reception during their first year, including grants from the City to improve their building.
He shared goals and challenges for the future.
Ald. Wolff thanked Read for opening his facility to the Batavia MainStreet indoor market.

10. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
Administrator Newman delivered her report on the recent and upcoming initiatives of the City of Batavia. The City has completed the HUD reimbursement process for the purchase of the new Food Bank facility at 916 First Street.
The Marketing Department has launched “Street Stories,” a series of videos to share the history of the names of some of the streets of Batavia, presented by Mayor Schielke.
Storm and sanitary sewer lining is ongoing. Residents may notice steam coming out of open manholes as a normal part of this process.
Newman encouraged residents to check on storm sewer grates on their streets and help to keep them clear of leaves, branches, and debris to improve drainage.

12. MAYOR’S REPORT
Mayor Schielke delivered his report. He told a “Batavia Story” of a resident who recently reported how pleased he was to have moved to Batavia. He also shared the story of the Alberosky family and why there is a road in Batavia known as Alberosky Way.
