Illinois DMVs will now accept “digital wallet” payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

The new payment method aims to provide more convenience for residents. The Illinois Secretary of State's office announced the change in response to growing demand for digital payment options.

“Digital wallets are a secure and efficient way to pay,” said an official from the Secretary of State's office. “We hope this will make transactions quicker and easier for everyone.”

Residents can use their smartphones or smartwatches to make payments at any DMV location across the state. This move aligns with broader trends towards digital financial transactions seen nationwide.
