Across Illinois, orchards are welcoming visitors to enjoy autumn activities such as apple picking, hayrides, and various seasonal treats.

One of the popular destinations for families is Jonamac Orchard in Malta. "We love coming here every year," said local resident Emily Davis. "It's a great way to spend time outdoors with the kids."

In addition to apple picking, many orchards offer other attractions. Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park features a corn maze and pumpkin patch. Owner Mike Kuipers noted, "We've seen an increase in visitors this season, which is wonderful for our community."

The orchards also provide educational opportunities. At Royal Oak Farm Orchard in Harvard, children can learn about different types of apples and how they are grown. "It's important for kids to understand where their food comes from," explained orchard manager Sarah Johnson.

Orchard visits are not just limited to daytime activities. Many locations host evening events like bonfires and haunted hayrides during the fall season.

Overall, Illinois' apple orchards offer a variety of experiences that appeal to all ages, making them a favored destination during the autumn months.
