State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) will host a free shred event and food drive on Saturday, September 14. The event is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. at the Gail Borden Public Library District – Rakow Branch, located at 2751 W. Bowes Rd., Elgin.

Residents can bring their sensitive documents for safe shredding. The event will also serve as a food drive for the South Elgin Food Pantry and will collect diaper donations for the Fox Valley United Way. Only unexpired and non-perishable food items are accepted. Electronics will not be accepted for recycling or disposal. The event is set to conclude at 11 a.m., or once the food truck reaches capacity.

“I hope residents are able to take advantage of this opportunity to safely and securely dispose of their sensitive documents,” stated Rep. Ugaste. “In addition, please consider donating non-perishable food items to help your neighbors in need and stock the shelves of the South Elgin Food Pantry.”

Rep. Dan Ugaste serves Illinois House District 65. For more information, contact Rep. Ugaste’s office at 630-797-5530 or visit his website at repugaste.com.
