The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning advising individuals who are pregnant, aged 65 or older, or have weakened immune systems to avoid deli counter meat unless it is reheated to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. This advisory follows a multi-state Listeria outbreak that has resulted in one fatality in Illinois.

According to the CDC, symptoms of Listeria infection include fever and headache. The outbreak has been potentially linked to deli meat, prompting heightened concern among health officials.
