The History of Aurora: World War I

On September 13, 1917, over 20,000 citizens gathered at the train station located at LaSalle and New York Street in Aurora Downtown to give a passionate send-off to 367 members of the Aurora-based National Guard - Third Infantry Division who would go on to fight in World War I!

They later became members of the 129th Infantry of the 33rd Division.
