In a bid to connect with constituents and garner support for the upcoming 2024 elections, Aris Garcia, the Republican candidate for State Representative in Illinois’ 49th district, announced a "meet and greet" event featuring fellow conservative candidate Heather Brown, who is vying for the Illinois State Senate 25 seat. The event which is intended to provide residents an opportunity to engage with their potential representatives, will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Nov. 18 at the Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robins located at 3N13 N Neltnor Blvd.

“Meet and greet with Heather brown for Illinois State Senate 25 and Aris Garcia for State Rep. 49. Our Conservative candidates for 2024,” Garcia said on Facebook.

Residents from Wayne, Bartlett, Winfield, and West Chicago are encouraged to attend the event with their support and questions. The factoid shared on Facebook reiterated the invitation, underlining the proximity of the event to Wayne, Bartlett, Winfield, and West Chicago, emphasizing accessibility for residents from these areas to connect with the Republican candidates.

“Come meet your Republican candidates running for State Senator and State Representatives in our district,” the event landing page notes.

Garcia is a first-generation American who immigrated from Germany according to his campaign website. He is a graduate of Central Florida Aerospace Academy.

"I am running for State Representative because I believe the Democrats have failed our children and are actively destroying opportunities for the middle and lower classes," Garcia’s campaign website reads.

According to his campaign's information: "Currently high school students in our district are falling behind drastically with approximately three out of four students not proficient in reading writing and/or mathematics. I take a hard stand against politicians who treat their office like a personal piggy bank and forsake needs of people."

Garcia is running for the 49th District which is currently represented by State Rep. Maura Hirschauer (D-Batavia). The 49th District includes parts of Batavia, West Chicago, South Elgin, Wayne, Bartlett, and portions of Aurora and Geneva according to Ballotpedia.
