Elgin, IL – On Thursday, October 25, 2023 at approximately 9:45 a.m., members of the Elgin Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of St. Andrew Circle for a report of a house fire.
Responding fire companies arrived less than 3 minutes after being dispatched and found a single family home with fire coming from a first floor window, with heavy smoke throughout the home. The fire was quickly extinguished 10 minutes after the arrival of the Fire Department. Initial estimates put the fire and smoke damage at approximately $150,000.
A dog perished in the fire. The occupants were not home when the fire occurred and no civilians or firefighters were injured The Elgin Fire Department Fire Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the fire.
