Illinois' Ugaste: 'I'm glad to bring back my Outside Kid's Fair to provide resources for parents and children'

Illinois state Rep. Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) is once again hosting his annual Outside Kid's Fair on Saturday at the Chapelstreet Church in Geneva.

Ugaste invited his constituents to join in on the fun at the free event, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“Summer brings some of the best memories for families enjoying the warmer days together,” Ugaste said in a recent news release from his office announcing the event. “I’m glad to bring back my Outside Kid’s Fair to provide resources for parents and children in the 65th District that are helpful and fun. Bring the family along for touch-a-trucks, shows, and information on important topics!”

Participants in the event that kicks off Saturday morning include Atlas Towing, Birth to Five, CASA Kane County, the City of St. Charles, Commonwealth Edison, DancEncounter School of Dance, Elburn Campton Hills Area CERT, Juice Plus, LifeNet, PACE, Superior Ambulance, Terri Lynn Mate Magic, the Arc of Illinois, Traveling World of Reptiles, University of Illinois Extension, the Village of South Elgin and World Martial Arts Academy.

Participating government agencies include the Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District, the Elburn Police Department, Elburn Public Works, the Geneva Park District, Geneva Public Works, Kane County Division of Transportation, Kane County Emergency Management Agency, Kane County Health Department, the Kane County Sheriff, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Illinois Conservation Police, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Secretary of State Police, the state Attorney General, the Illinois Secretary of State and the Illinois Treasurer.

Ugaste, who first took office in 2019, won reelection in November 2022 by garnering nearly 55% of the vote, which knocked off Democrat Linda Robertson and assured his seat representing the 65th District until January 2025, according to Ballotpedia. He previously served on the House's Energy & Environment; Judiciary - Civil; Labor & Commerce; Police & Fire; and Transportation: Regulation, Roads & Bridges committees.
