First Lady M.K Pritzker has been appointed to serve on the Committee for the Preservation of the White House, with the appointment coming just days after Chicago was tabbed as the host city for the 2024 Democratic Convention. on Apr 17th.

“No one better I can think of to be appointed to the Committee for the Preservation of the White House than my wife, MK!” Gov. JB Pritzker wrote.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s wife is joining 17 other members on a committee whose honorary chair is first lady Jill Biden, with the proud Governor adding in a post to Twitter "no one better I can think of to be appointed to the Committee for the Preservation of the White House than my wife, MK!”

In a news release, the White House stated one of the primary reasons Illinois' First Lady was selected for the post was her work restoring the once crumbling Illinois Governor’s Mansion in Springfield, which is documented in an upcoming book penned by M.K. Pritzker that “not only celebrates the updating of the Italianate — Greek Revival Illinois Governor’s Mansion in Springfield but also tells the story of the house’s evolution since 1855."

The billionaire heir to the Hyatt fortune, Pritzker is widely seen as having designs on becoming a permanent resident of the White House as president, with growing speculation about his interest largely stemming from his trips last year to the key election-year states of New Hampshire and Florida. Through it all, Pritzker has insisted he has no plans of running for the Oval Office anytime soon, particularly if President Biden decides to seek a second term.
