The Board of Directors of Batavia United Way is pleased to announce Kathy Evangelista as the new executive director of the organization. Kathy has been serving on the board since August of 2019 and has taken on the responsibility of interim director since September of 2022. Kathy has played a pivotal role in planning and executing the ever-popular Bat Race over the past few years and BUW’s Success by 6 scholarship program.
Kathy brings many years of nonprofit experience to her role as well as an enthusiasm for all things Batavia! She has lived in Batavia for the past 18 years with her husband and two sons. Kathy is also a certified speech language pathologist and former professor, so she brings with her a passion for access and equity for all in education and healthcare.
“I’m excited to continue to build on the strong foundation of community support that Batavia United Way provides," stated Kathy. "I have seen the good work that Batavia United Way does and am delighted to serve in this community that cares so much for its residents.”
