8. OATH OF OFFICE: Probationary Police Officer Joseph Gudella
Deputy Chief Sean Mazza introduced Officer Joseph Gudella and spoke on his qualifications to join the Batavia Police Department.
Mayor Schielke administered the Oath of Office to Probationary Police Officer Gudella.
9. PRESENTATION: 2022 Post Prom Donation
Deputy Chief Shawn Mazza presented the Post Prom Committee with a check in the amount of $3,000 to be used to support drug-and-alcohol-free activities after the Batavia High School Prom. Funding for this donation came from fines collected in the course of drug and alcohol enforcement.
10. PROCLAMATION: Retirement Fire Chief Randy Deicke
Alderman Chanzit read the proclamation in its entirety in recognition of the 15 years of dedicated service to the City of Batavia by Fire Chief Randy Deicke.
Chief Diecke addressed the council and the Mayor. His comments noted improvements made to the Fire Department in the course of his service and to highlight the hard work of the men of the Fire Department.

11. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Margaret Perreault presented her report on the recent and upcoming programs of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber Membership Guide is now available. The Batavia City Map is in production to highlight businesses in Batavia. The Chamber is also offering local businesses the opportunity to solicit donations for the annual Sky Concert.
She introduced Jim Nichols from Crosstown Pub and Grill. Nichols addressed the Council and discussed the support that has made it possible to weather the uncertainty of the pandemic.

12. APPROVAL: Batavia Mainstreet Capital Project Proposal For Downtown Informational Kiosk Signage
Motion by Ald. Wolf , seconded by Ald. Solfa, to approve the proposal. Motion carried 13 yea/ 0 nay/1 absent.

John Hammel rose to address the Council. He is a partner in Mirus LLC and the owner of Pal Joeys and Bar Evolution. He spoke about his hopes and plans for the new restaurant.

17. ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
City Administrator Laura Newman delivered her report. Review recording for complete report.
Ald. Beck asked if this would be an appropriate time to revisit the number of electric bikes allotted in the contract with Koloni. Administrator Newman expressed a desire to consult with the Kane County Forest Preserve District before requesting additional e-bike service. Discussion ensued.

20. MAYOR’S REPORT
