Eagles Fight Back Late in 80-77 Loss to St. Xavier

 The Judson University Men's Basketball Team nearly overcame multiple double-digit deficits (as late as six minutes to play) in an 80-77 loss to St. Xavier. The crowd really came alive after Jack Keller hit a three with 45-seconds remaining. Judson had multiple chances to tie the game late, but ultimately, the Eagles could not make a three-pointer down the stretch to even the contest. 

Lorenzo Anderson was the team's leading scorer with 29 points as he played every minute of the contest. Anderson was 11-19 from the field (1-2 from behind the arc) and made 6-7 free throws. He additionally contributed with six rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Thomas Donati returned to the lineup and nearly had another double-double with 13 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two assists. He was 6-12 from the field and 1-2 from the free-throw line. Johnny Flynn (two field goals, eight free throws) scored 12 points and added six rebounds and an assist. Jack Keller a trio of threes to score nine points. Jordan Johnson (four points, two rebounds, two steals, two assists, and a block), Trace Boley (four points), Damon Price, (two points, one rebound, one assist), and Nehemiah Jones (two points, four rebounds, a block, and a steal) rounded out Judson's scoring. 

"I thought they out-hustled us tonight. Getting down by double digits in the first half really hurt," said Head Coach Bruce Fields. "But I thought that we fought back in the second half and did the things we needed to fight back into the game. We've got six games left, and we have to come together as a team."

Judson (10-14, 7-9 CCAC) returns to action on Wednesday at home against Calumet College at 7:30 pm.
