City of Aurora Civil Service Commission met Dec. 2.

CALL TO ORDER-4:02 p.m.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Timothy Oelker

Vice Chairman Ramona Wood

Commissioner Angela Thomas

Commissioner Keefe Jackson

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Wood motioned to approve the November 18, 2021 meeting minutes. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS

Commissioner Jackson motioned to approve the revised Civil Service Exam for Parks Maintenance Worker II. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioners reviewed payroll for November 2021. There are no changes and document will be submitted to the payroll department for processing.

Commissioner Wood motioned to take the Commission into executive session at 4:09 p.m. to review public safety applicant polygraph, psychological and backgrounds. Commissioner Jackson seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to take the Commission out of executive session at 4:45 p.m. to review public safety polygraph evaluation and/or psychological assessments. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to pass 2020 Police Officer candidate Rudy Dereza to the next step in the hiring process due to the results of the background investigation. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to strike 2020 Police Officer candidates Eduardo Zavala, Andrew Rogalski, Tyler Mayerhofer, Armando Leon, Adrian Gonzalez and Gabriel Martinez from the eligibility list due to the results of the background investigation. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to pass police cadet Matthew Lewan to the next step in the hiring process due to the results of the background investigation. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to pass 2021 Fire Private candidates Alex Geib, Nicholas McDonald to the next step in the hiring process due to the results of the polygraph assessment. Commissioner Thomas seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned to pass 2021 Fire Private candidates John Miller, Joshua Guzman to the next step in the hiring process due to the results of the psychological assessment. Commissioner Jackson seconded. Motion Passed.

Commissioner Wood motioned, seconded by Commissioner Thomas to adjourn the meeting at 4:53 p.m. Motioned Passed.
