City of Batavia Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met Dec. 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

This meeting was held remotely via Zoom. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m.

Roll Call

Members Present: Chairman Nancy Vance; Secretary Dennis Anderson, Commissioner Randy Zies

Members Absent:

Others Present: Police Chief Daniel Eul, Deputy Chief Eric Blowers, Recording Secretary Joanne Miller and Joseph Gudella.

NEW BUSINESS

Police Officer Secondary Eligibility List

Motion: To remove Robert Skrobot from the October 5, 2021, Secondary Eligibility List, per his request. Skrobot is now determined to be ineligible for any further consideration as a police patrol officer with City of Batavia until this list expires on October 5, 2023.

Maker: Zies

Second: Anderson

Voice Vote: 3 Ayes, 0 Nays, 0 Absent. All in favor. Motion carried

Motion: To remove Joseph Cisneros from the October 5, 2021, Secondary Eligibility List, per his request. Cisneros is now determined to be ineligible for any further consideration as a police patrol officer with City of Batavia until this list expires on October 5, 2023.

Voice Vote: 3 Ayes, 0 Nays, 0 Absent. All in favor. Motion carried

Motion: To approve giving a Conditional Offer of employment to Police Candidate Joseph Gudella, based upon successful completion of a psychological exam and medical exam.

Voice Vote: 3 Ayes, 0 Nays, 0 Absent. All in favor. Motion carried

Update on Police Candidate Michael Hockett: Michael Hockett was appointed as a Probationary Police Officer by the Fire and Police Commissioners on August 17, 2021. His tentative start date at that time was August 25, 2021, to attend the September 13, 2021, SLEA Police Academy. This start date was postponed so that he could attend the January 3, 2022, SLEA Police Academy. His new start date is tentatively December 20, 2021.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to consider, a motion was made by Commissioner Zies to adjourn the meeting at 10:11 a.m. Seconded by Secretary Anderson. All in favor. Motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:11 a.m. The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021, beginning at 4:00 p.m. This meeting will be held remotely via Zoom video conferencing.
