Chairman's Circle Members
Happenings in and around the Chamber!
Happy Monday!
Brrr! Winter's cold temperatures returned with a vengeance last week.
Last week also saw a continued climb in COVID numbers, prompting us to postpone our Inspire Celebration and pivot our networking events to virtual. The health and safety of our attendees is our utmost consideration. Scroll down to our event section to learn more about these changes.
Kane County American Rescue Plan
The Kane County American Rescue Plan is allocating $4 million in funding to assist mental health organizations, homeless shelters and food pantries in Kane County who have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Application Portal is now open. Please click the link below to begin the application process:
Back to Business Grants Update
For any business who applied for this grant (applications are closed) but hasn't received any notification about it, there is still hope that you will receive a grant. According to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, $109 million in Back to Business grants was allotted to 2,804 small businesses. Awards will continue to be made on a rolling basis. If you previously submitted a complete application, you may check on its status at the application portal. View the most recent list of grantees.
Mayor's Weekly Update
The Mayor's update from Friday, Jan. 7 can be viewed here. In it he encouraged everyone to participate in the Batavia Biking/Walking Survey. The City is partnering with the Active Transportation Alliance and Ride Illinois to develop a community-wide bicycle and pedestrian plan. There are multiple ways to participate; visit the Batavia Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan website for links to the survey, an interactive map and other information.
We continually update our home page, bataviachamber.org when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our calendar for new events from us and the community. Make certain you check the calendars regularly!
As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.
Most sincerely,
Margaret, Patti and Shirley
