The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:31 PM.

8. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Margaret Perreault delivered her report on the recent and upcoming activities of the Chamber of Commerce to serve the business community of Batavia. She invited Stephanie Weber to speak to Council on behalf of Suicide Prevention Services, a non-profit headquartered in Batavia.
Ms. Weber spoke about the work of Suicide Prevention Services, which will have been in Batavia for 25 years in 2023. She outlined a number of services offered by the organization from counseling, to support groups for suicide attempt survivors, and school district trainings.
9. ORDINANCE 21-50: Annexing 915-1005 (Odd) Main Street (Involuntary)
Motion by Ald. Wolf , seconded by Ald. Solfa, to approve the ordinance. Motion carried 12 yea/ 0 nay/ 1 absent.
10. ORDINANCE 21-51: Vacation Of North Harrison Street Right-Of-Way
Motion by Ald. Wolf , seconded by Ald. Solfa, to approve the ordinance. Motion carried 12 yea/ 0 nay/ 1 absent.
11. ORDINANCE 21-52: Conditional Use Permit For Brewery With A Tap Room, Over 5,000 Square Feet In The DMU Downtown Mixed-Use District, 10 South Shumway Avenue Frank Mercadante, Sturdy Shelter Brewing, LLC, Applicant
Alderman Beck stepped away from the meeting at 7:58 PM.
Alderman Wolff invited the owner of the business to address the council regarding the plans for the new operation. He spoke about hoping to build not just a production facility, but a community gathering place for new experiences that will support good causes.
Motion by Ald. Wolf , seconded by Ald. Solfa, to approve the resolution. Motion carried 11 yea/ 0 nay/ 2 absent.
12. RESOLUTION 21-094-R: Authorizing Resolution To Designate Raddant Road, Douglas Road, Hubbard Ave, Hunter Road, Lathem Street, Pierson Dr, Louis Bork Dr, And Paramount Parkway As Class II Truck Route
Alderman Beck returned to the meeting at 8:07 PM.
Alderman Leman asked if this would prevent truck traffic from using other roads. Alderman Malay clarified that this will not limit truck traffic on other roadways, but it will designate preferred roadways eligible for funding.
Motion by Ald. Malay, seconded by Ald. Leman, to approve the resolution. Motion carried 12 yea/ 0 nay/ 1 absent.

Mayor Schielke delivered his report. Batavia Township is undertaking a new traffic signal installation at the intersection of Nelson Lake Road and Main Street to facilitate commuter traffic. Review recording for complete report.
