West Dundee Fire District responded to 198 calls in 2018 - 32 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in West Dundee included 50 fires - 35 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 10 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $65,175 in fire loss - or about $1,304 per fire.

The department also received 147 false calls, including five malicious calls and 142 other false calls.

The West Dundee Fire District had an annual budget of $14,454 in 2018.

The West Dundee Firefighters Pension Fund, which has seven active employees and 13 retired or inactive employees, was $141,145 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $4,867 for every fire in 2017.
