Fox River Countryside FRD responds to 47 fires in 2018

Fox River Countryside Fire-Rescue District responded to 242 calls in 2018 - 9 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fox River Countryside included 47 fires - 15 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 26 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $746,550 in fire loss - or about $15,884 per fire.

The department also received 194 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 187 other false calls.

The calls resulted in four civilian fire-related injuries.
