Analysis: Aurora pays $5.40 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Aurora Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $13,815,962 the Aurora Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.40 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Kane County Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Aurora contributed $11,660,332 to the fund, which saw a $1,267,129 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $2,155,630, or 15.6 percent, in 2018.
