Powell emphasized they are client based dealing with only a small group of customers. The majority of equipment built is shipped overseas, 90% goes to Kuwait and the other 10% to Saudi Arabia. (Scheflow arrives @ 10:25 am) Processing the overseas shipping documents can be expensive; they are seeking to get some of these expenses reimbursed through the CRGC (Chicago Regional Growth Corporation) grant. Powell emphasized the company is always looking for experienced welders and to that end have worked in the community to engage youth. Last October AmeriChem Systems hosted National Manufacturing Day. Forty students attended from Kaneland High School. The students had classroom activities as well as engineering based shop applications. Powell stated more events are planned for this year at Sandwich and Batavia High Schools. Powell answered questions from the committee.
