Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60505 convicted of homicide

There were three offenders convicted of homicide released on parole near Illinois zip code 60505 during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kane County Reporter.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 39. The youngest parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced in 2012, and the oldest was a 45-year-old man sentenced in 1995.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Cedric Grissett. He was convicted of homicide in 1995 when he was 20 years old. He is now 45.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
