Q2 2019 Recap: Parolees in Kane County convicted of homicide

There were three offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in Kane County during the second quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kane County Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 51. The youngest parolee was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2011, and the oldest was a 69-year-old man sentenced in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Derrick D. Jordan. He was convicted in 2006 when he was 30 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of homicide were paroled during the second quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
