Batavia Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 26.
On Thursday August 1st, at 4:00, Veritá (formerly Gaetano’s Batavia) will be celebrating 5 years in Batavia. With the same ownership and staff since 2014, they are celebrating 5 years of business in downtown Batavia, and the RE-christening of their name to VERITÁ (meaning TRUTH in Italian). For 5 years they have dazzled customers appetites with traditional homemade pastas, fresh fish and delicious steaks prepared in their wood fired oven from Italy. The owner, Wendy Reed has been running the restaurant on her own since early 2017, after her original partner left the business. The new name represents Wendy’s beliefs both personally and in the food served at Veritá “THE TRUTH IS IN OUR FOOD”. “With the same executive chef, manager and most of my original staff since 2014, I believe that our new menu is better than ever, the specials are better, the service is better, and the general harmony, joyfulness and energy of the restaurant is absolutely magical. I’m very proud of my staff, and we’re very excited continuing to serve the best quality dishes with hand chosen vegetables, herbs, fresh fish & seafood, organic meats and handmade pastas”. After the ribbon cutting at 4:00, a small selection of complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be available upstairs in their lounge and Jake Mack’s band “The Heavy Lifting” will be performing at 7:00. To celebrate the 5 year anniversary, specials will be offered all weekend. Please “like” their Facebook Page “Veritá Batavia” to see updates for the anniversary weekend and other upcoming specials or visit their website www.veritabatavia.com. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant 630-406-3009 or online at their website. “Thank you Batavia, and the surrounding communities for supporting us over the past five years. The restaurant industry relies on you, our valued customers, to keep going. I look forward to serving you soon!”
