The price of local government in 2017: Village of East Dundee

The Village of East Dundee budget was $13.77 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $10,922 per household.

That's a decrease of 44.6 percent from 2016, when the village spent $24.85 million, or $19,710 per household.

East Dundee has 1,261 households and a population of 2,860.

Since 2001, the Village of East Dundee budget has grown by 18.5 percent, from $11.62 million. The village population has fallen 10.6 percent over the same period, from 3,200.

Salaries accounted for 20.3 percent of village spending in 2017. East Dundee property taxpayers paid $2.79 million for 39 full-time employees and nine part-time employees.

In 2001, the village had 28 full-time employees and nine part-time employees, and spent $2.11 million.
