CITY OF BATAVIA: Influential Women in Business Award From The Daily Herald Business Ledger

City of Batavia issued the following announcement on Oct. 13.

Laura Newman, City Administrator at #cityofbataviail has earned the Influential Women in Business award from the Daily Herald Business Ledger. She is among 20 other leading businesswomen to be recognized at a banquet to be held Friday, November 2, 2019 from 11-2 pm, at Belvedere Events & Banquets 1170 W. Devon Ave, Elk Grove Village, 60007

Newman, whose job entails oversight of all City of Batavia departments and services, has been City Administrator just over two years. Prior to that she served as VP of Administration and Compliance at Mitutoyo America Corporation.

She has her Juris Doctor from Chicago Kent College of Law, and a BS, Business Administration from University of Illinois.

She also serves as a Director on the Waubonsee Community College Foundation Board, a Commissioner on the Batavia Police and Fire Commission, is a member and Past President of the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce and is on the Board of the Renz Addiction Counseling Center in Elgin.
